#1N WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL ADVANCES TO CACC SEMI-FINALS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/6/12) The Dominican College women's volleyball team, the first seed in the North Division, topped the visiting Devils from the University of the Sciences, the fourth seed in the South Division, 3-0, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament Quarter-Final match. With the victory, the Lady Chargers advance to the semi-finals this coming Friday.

With the victory, the Lady Chargers advance to the semi-finals this coming Friday.
Dominican took a 4-0 lead in the first set but the Devils battled back to later tie it at 5-5. From their the biggest lead the Lady Chargers had would be two points. Tied at 23-all, a Dominican attack error put the Devils at set point, 24-23, but senior Courtney Heard (Ventura, Calif.) re-tied the set with a big kill. Tied at 25-25, a USCI serving error and a kill from junior Randi Garrett (Rockledge, Fla.) gave the Lady Chargers the 27-25 victory.
The second set was tied at 14-14 when Dominican went on a 7-1 tear to pull ahead 21-15 en route to the 25-21 set win.
Set three was tied at 7-all when DC outscored the Devils 9-1 over the next 10 points to go up 16-8 and never looked back in the 25-18 win and 3-0 match victory.
CACC Player and Rookie of the Week, Tori Dexter (Selah, Wash.) led the Lady Chargers with nine kills and added 10 defensive digs.
Heard finished with eight kills, while N'Jameh Philip (Monroe, N.Y.) had 11 digs.
Setter Whitney Ranger* (Ventura, Calif.) had a match leading 33 assists, while libero Jordyn Fuller* (Keller, Texas) had a match leading 17 digs.
DC improves to 24-7 overall on the season.
The team now advances to the 2012 CACC Women's Volleyball Tournament semi-finals this coming Friday.
