Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/5/19) The University of the Sciences defeated host, Dominican College, 3-1 this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
Dominican (0-11, 0-5 CACC) broke a 21-all tie in the first set with three straight points and would close out the set on a kill from freshman Zoe Clifford (Suffern, N.Y.) for the early 1-0 match lead.
The Devils countered by taking the next three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-18 to take home the 3-1 match win.
Sophomore Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) produced season highs of 12 kills and 13 digs to lead the team.
Deanna Knopf (Hauppauge, N.Y.) contributed seven kills, two service aces and five digs.
DC is scheduled to travel to Concordia College on Tuesday evening.
