#1S WILDCATS DEFEAT #4N WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL IN CACC QUARTERFINALS
Newark, Del. (11/18/25) The #4N Dominican University New York women's volleyball team fell in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Volleyball Tournament to the #1S Wilmington University 3-1, this evening in a match played at the WU Athletics Complex.
With the loss, the Lady Chargers end their season with an overall record of 8-15.
Dominican took the first set by the score of 25-20, but then lost the next three by scores of 26-24, 25-15 and 25-23 to bring home the 3-1 win.
In the first set, the score was tied at 6-all when the Lady Chargers went on a 10-5 run to pull infront 16-11. Senior Elizabeth Perez recorded a kill to put the team at set point and a bad Wildcat set gave them the win. DUNY had a .324 attack percentage in the set, while recording 16 kills.
Perez finished the match with 13 kills and 11 defensive digs to lead the Lady Chargers.
Junior Layla Shipley added 12 kills, a .259 attack percentage and 20 assists, while senior Savannah Tody added eight kills.
Starting setter Kaeden Sanstead tallied 21 assists and seven digs before being sidelined with an injury.
Libero Haile Comeau recorded 17 digs in the loss.
