New Haven, CT (4/3,/09)  Philadelphia University leads the standings for the 2008-09 Men's and Women's Alfred R. Restaino, Sr., Cups, through the winter athletic season. Philadelphia gained control of the standings by virtue of winning both the men's and women's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Basketball Tournament championships in March.

The point system used for the awards takes into account each team's finish in both the CACC regular-season and conference tournament. Each school receives a combined point total, and that total is divided by the number of sports the institution sponsors.

The Philadelphia men's program leads with 9.7 points, ahead of Caldwell College (9.25) and Bloomfield College (9.20). Philadelphia won the South Division regular-season title for basketball and captured the CACC tournament championship. The Rams also finished third at the cross country championships. Caldwell won the CACC men's soccer regular-season title and fell in the quarterfinal round of the basketball tournament. Bloomfield took home the North Division regular-season championship for basketball and advanced to the tournament championship game, while also qualifying for the CACC soccer tournament.
