Dominican Baseball Tabbed Eighth in NCBWA Preseason Northeast Region Poll

RINDGE, N.H. (February 13, 2006) – Franklin Pierce is the preseason favorite for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association(NCBWA) in the Northeast Region. The poll was conducted by the region’s six-member committee.

RINDGE, N.H. (February 13, 2006) – Franklin Pierce is the preseason favorite for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) in the Northeast Region. The poll was conducted by the region’s six-member committee.

Franklin Pierce received five of the six first place votes by the committee and was picked second on the remaining ballot. Defending Northeast Regional champions Southern Connecticut State took the remaining first place vote. Fellow Northeast-10 Conference members UMass Lowell and Stonehill and Dowling College of the New York Collegiate Athletic Conference round out the preseason top five. The NCBWA’s Northeast Regional committee for 2006 is Doug Monson, Sports Information Director at Franklin Pierce (coordinator), Ken Johnson, SID at Saint Anselm, Chuck Sadowski, SID at New Haven, Jennifer Mischke, SID at Molloy, Tony Berich, Assistant AD/SID at Philadelphia and Bob Heller, Assistant AD/SID at University of Sciences in Philadelphia.
