Baseball Completes Series Sweep Of USP, 7-1

Blauvelt, NY (3/26/06) The Dominican College baseball team completed a three game series sweep of the University of The Sciences In Philadelphia in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) this afternoon.

Baseball Completes Series Sweep Of USP, 7-1

Blauvelt, NY (3/26/06)  The Dominican College baseball team completed a three game series sweep of the University of The Sciences In Philadelphia in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) this afternoon.

The Chargers tooka 3-0 lead into the sixth inning when USP battled back with a run to make the score 3-1, but DC answered back, exploding for four runs in the seventh for the 7-1 victory.

First basemen Jose Escalera (Bronx, NY) went 2-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored.  Centerfielder Eliezer Nunez (Brooklyn, NY) added two runs and an RBI in the win.

Dominican starter Daniel Bucci (Dobbs Ferry, NY) got the win, allowing three hits and striking out five in eight innings.  Closer Tommy Mejia (Brooklyn, NY) got one strikeout in one inning.

The Chargers are back in action on Tuesday, March 28th when they take on St. Thomas Aquinas College.
