Blauvelt, NY (4/10/06) The Dominican College baseball team improved to 21-11 overall and 9-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) after defeating rival, Nyack College, 11-1 this afternoon.

Blauvelt, NY (4/10/06) The Dominican College baseball team improved to 21-11 overall and 9-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) after defeating rival, Nyack College, 11-1 this afternoon.
Junior first baseman Jose Escalera (Bronx, NY) had a perfect 4-4 day with an RBI. Designated hitter Chad Duesler (Northville, NY) went 3-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs in the win.
Right fielder Sean Brown (Massapequa, NY) went 2-3 with two RBIs and a run scored, while Keith Gebert (Brooklyn, NY) was 3-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.
Nyack took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but Dominican tied the game in the bottom stanza and took the lead in the second inning, 2-1. The Chargers exploded for seven runs in the fifth inning to take a commanding 10-1 lead.
Charger starter Joe Catanese (Huntington, NY) went seven innings, scattering six hits and striking out six Warriors in the win.
Kyle Markle (Ulster Park, NY) pitched the last two innings and allowed one hit.
The Chargers are back in action tomorrow when they host Bloomfield College at 3:30 pm at Veteran's Memorial Park.
