Philadelphia, PA (3/31/07) The Dominican College baseball team swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double header from host University of the Sciences in Philadelphia this afternoon. The Chargers took the first game, 19-3 and won the second game, 8-3.

Philadelphia, PA (3/31/07) The Dominican College baseball team swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double header from host University of the Sciences in Philadelphia this afternoon. The Chargers took the first game, 19-3 and won the second game, 8-3.
In game one, the Chargers took a commanding 9-0 lead after four innings, en route to the 19-3 victory. Nelson Cruz (East Elmhurst, NY) went 2-3 in the game with four RBIs, while senior Jose Escalera (Bronx, NY) went 3-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Neil Fedele (Scranton, PA) and Sean Brown (Massapequa, NY) each had two hits in the win.
Starter Joseph Catanese (Huntington, NY) got the win, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out nine Devils in 7 2/3 innings.
In game two, USP took a 2-1 lead after the first inning, but DC tied it in the second and added three runs in the sixth, one in the seventh and two in the ninth for the 8-3 win.
Brown went 3-5 with an RBI and two runs scored, while shortstop Jose Made (Binghamton, NY) went 204 with an RBI and two runs scored. Freshman Tommy Maloney (Massapequa Park, NY), Tom Keegan (Dickson City, PA) and Cruz all had two hits a piece.
Junior Tommy Mejia (Brooklyn, NY) got the win, allowing three runs on eight hits in 7 1/3 innings pitched.
