MADE SELECTED TO ECAC DIVISION II BASEBALL ALL-STAR TEAM
Blauvelt, NY (7/26/07) Former Dominican College baseball player, Jose Made, has been named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Baseball All-Star Team as was announced by the ECAC yesterday.
Made, who just completed his sophomore year at DC
as the starting shortstop, was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the
20th round (607 overall pick) of the draft. He started 36 of
38 games this season for the Chargers. He led the team with a
.338 batting average, 49 hits, 38 RBIs and 10 doubles. He was
tied for first on the team with three triples and was tied for the
lead in home runs with four on the year. He was a perfect
11-11 in stolen bases and finsihed the year with a .931 fielding
percentage. Made was 22nd in the Central
Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) in batting average and tied
for first in triples.
Among being named to the ECAC Division II Baseball All-Star Team, he was also selected to the NCBWA Northeast All-Region Team, the 2007 Daktronics NCAA Division II Baseball All-Northeast Region Team and to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) First Team for the second straight year.
Made is currently playing on the Boise Hawks, which
is a single A minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. In
19 games, he is sporting a .240 batting average and a .380 slugging
percentage.
