MONDESIR AND RYAN EARN CACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS IN
BASEBALL
New Haven, CT (4/28/08) Senior Michael Mondesir (Jamaica, NY) has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Pitcher of the Week, while freshman Jonathan Ryan (Troy, NY) has been named the CACC Rookie of the Week for games played April 21-27.
Mondesir, a right handed pitcher, hurled a
one-hit shut out one the road against first-place Wilmington
Univesity. He fanned seven Wildcats in the 5-0 victory.
Ryan, an infielder, hit .533 with eight RBIs, three runs and a .579 on-base percentage in five games. He collected two hits in all three games against Wilmington and drove in three runs in each of the final two in both DC victories.
DC went 3-2 last week and currently have a 23-21 oveall record
and a 15-8 CACC record.
