DOMINICAN'S MALONEY NAMED TO 2008 DAKTRONICS BASEBALL ALL-NORTHEAST REGION TEAM

Orangeburg, NY (5/14/08)  Dominican College baseball player, Tommy Maloney, has been named to the 2008 Daktronics Baseball All-Northeast Region Second Team as was announced today.

Maloney, a sophomore first basemen out of Massapequa Park, NY, finished second on the team with a .324 average, in hits (58), tied for first in doubles (14) and led the team with three home runs, 45 RBIs and 83 total bases.  He also had a .984 fielding percentage to lead all starters and led the team with a .464 slugging percentage.

He led the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) in RBIs, was in the top five in doubles and was twelfth in doubles.

Maloney was also recently named to the All-CACC First Team.

The Chargers finished the season with a 28-25 overall record and a 18-9 CACC record.  Dominican received the third seed in the CACC Tournament and made to the Championship Game where they lost to #2 Caldwell College.
