BACON LEADS GOLDEN KNIGHTS AT SAINT ROSE INVITATIONAL

VOORHEESVILLE, NY – Freshman Jamie Bacon (Port Perry, ONT/Port Perry) fired a two-over-par 74 to lead The College of Saint Rose to a first place finish at its own invitational today at the par-72, 6,957 yard Colonie Country Club.

Five points separated the four competing institutions as the Golden Knights carded a score of 308 to finish two strokes ahead of UMass Lowell which fired a combined 310. Pace University edged Dominican by a point to take third with a collective round of 312.

Bacon was second overall, one stroke behind Pace freshman Mike Dominici(Norwalk, CT/Brien McMahon) who took home top individual honors with a one-over, 73.

Saint Rose junior Scott Daigle (Stillwater, NY/Stillwater) ended up in a three-way tie for fifth along with sophomore Brian Mackey (Chestnut Ridge, NY/St. Joseph’s-NJ) and junior Tony Viola (Pomona, NY/Tuckahoe) of Dominican.
