MACKEY MOVES IN 33RD PLACE AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Houston, TX (5/15/08) Dominican College golfer, Brian Mackey moved up 10 places into an 11-way tie for 33rd place at the Division-II NCAA Men's Golf Championships being held at the Memorial Park Golf Course.

Mackey, who hails from Chestnut Ridge, NY, was one stroke better today after firing a round of 71 (+1) for a two day total of 143 (+3).

After shooting for par on the first hole, Mackey was able to birdie the second hole and par the third to be at one under. He bogeyed the fourth and fifth to be one stroke over and rounded out the front nine with three pars and one bogey.

On the back nine, Mackey was able to pick up a stroke after a birdie on the tenth hole and followed with three straight pars. One the 14th hole Mackey was able to shoot a birdie and followed with three more straight pars and finished the day with a bogey on the 19th hole to finish the day with a 71 (+1).

Mackey returns to the course tomorrow for the third round of the NCAA Championships.
