DOMINICAN'S MACKEY AND MACKEY TO BE FEATURED ON CSTV
Orangeburg, NY (10/29/08) Dominican Colleges assistant mens golf coach, Brian Mackey, and his father and current head coach of the golf team , Wayne Mackey, will be featured in a special that will run on CSTV this Thursday night during the Angelo State at Tarleton State College Football game which starts at 8pm.
Orangeburg, NY (10/29/08) Dominican College's assistant men's golf coach, Brian Mackey, and his father and current head coach of the golf team , Wayne Mackey, will be featured in a special that will run on CSTV this Thursday night during the Angelo State at Tarleton State College Football game which starts at 8pm.
Brian Mackey, a 2008 graduate of Dominican, qualified as an individual for the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Northeast Regional Championship for the fourth consecutive year. In thrilling fashion he tied for first at the Regional with an amazing 75-foot putt to force a playoff hole and was able to pull out the win for the school's first Northeast Regional Individual Championship. He then went on the Division II Men's Golf National Championships that were held at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston, TX. He finished the four day event in a tie for 32nd place out of 104 golfers from around the country. He was also named to the Division II PING All-Region Northeast Team for the third straight year, earned honorable mention honors for the PING All-American Team and the All-CACC honor was his fourth appearance in four years.
Brian Mackey is the first golfer in program
history to compete at the NCAA Championships. He returned
this season as an assistant coach to the golf program and also
serves as an assistant coach to both the men's and women's
basketball teams.
Wayne Mackey is in his second season at the helm
of the Charger golf team. Last season he was named the
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Coach of the Year.
