Wayne Mackey

Title: Head Men's Golf Coach

Coach Mackey begins his second year as head coach. He has been associated with the game of golf for over thirty five years.

In his first season at the helm, golfer and son, Brian Mackey won the NCAA Northeast/East Super Regional and advanced to the NCAA Championships where he finished in a tie for 32nd place. For his efforts he was named the 2008 CACC Coach of the Year.

Mackey is a graduate of Albertus Magnus High School, Rockland Community College and attended Mercy College. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam and is a retired Senior Investigator with New York State Police.

Mackey’s daughter, Lisa, is a 2003 graduate of Dominican College and is currently working in the field of forensic psychology after receiving her master’s from John Jay College in 2005.

Coach Mackey resides in Chestnut Ridge, New York, with his wife Sandra, a speech and language pathologist, and his son Brian.

Coach Mackey enters his first year on the golf coaching staff.

Mackey is a 2008 graduate of Dominican College receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. He enters the coaching ranks after completing a stellar collegiate career at Dominican that included four year team MVP, four year CACC All-Conference Team selection, four year competitor in the East/Northeast Regional Championships, named to the NCAA Division II Ping All-Northeast Region Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America for three years, 2008 NCAA Division II East/Northeast Regional Tournament Individual Champion, competed in the 2008 NCAA Division II National Championship, selected to the 2008 NCAA Division II Ping All-America Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America, and the recipient of the 2008 Dominican College Charger Award.

Mackey is a 2004 graduate of Saint Joseph Regional High School, Montvale N.J., where he was a four year MVP, selected to 1^st & 2^nd Team All-County, 1^st & 2^nd Team All- League, 1^st Team Parochial "A" Team and selected to NJPGA Section All-State Team during his four year high school career. As Team Captain, he led the Saint Joseph golf team to the 2004 New Jersey State Championship, 2004 Parochial "A" Championship and the 2004 All-League Championship.

Mackey will bring an enormous amount of golf expertise, enthusiasm and tournament experience to the Dominican Golf Team and will contribute immensely to the team's continued progress and success in both regional and conference play.
