Dominican College Announces 2005-2006 Men’s Basketball Recruits

Blauvelt, NY (09/30/05) Dominican College men’s basketball coach, Joe Clinton, has announced the 2005-2006 men’s basketball recruiting class.

The Chargers signed five players for the upcoming season. The players are Prince Jackson, Tahiem Stewart, Zerimar Ramirez, Damien Davis and Richard Fegins.

Jackson, a junior college transfer from Cobleskill, is a 6-6 forward. He was the Region 3 Player of the Year and 1st Team All American in 03-04 and was the MVP of the USA JUCO Team. He left Cobleskill as the all time leading scorer with 1,132 points. Stewart is a 6-4 forward from Westchester Community College. In 2001-2002, he was named to the Region IV 2nd Team.

Ramirez, a 6-6 forward, is a graduate of St. Andrew’s High School in Rhode Island. He was a 2005 McDonalds All American Nominee and netted 1,200 points in his high school career. Davis, a 6-0 guard, is out of the Masters High School in Connecticut. He averaged 18 ppg, 5 assists per game in his senior year and amassed 1,200 points in his career. He was named the teams MVP in both 2003-2004 and 2004-2005.

Fegins, a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Elizabeth, NJ, is a 5-10 point guard. He averaged 15 ppg and 4 assists per game during his senior year. He was a Union City Scholar Athlete and made 2nd Team All City.

The recruiting class is a mixture of high school and junior college players. It is a class that Coach Clinton believes will help the Chargers compete for the 2005-2006 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship.
