Philadelphia University Rams Earn Third Straight Win With Victory over Dominican Chargers
Philadelphia, PA (1/13/07) Senior center Christian Burns scored 23 points and collected eight rebounds in helping the Philadelphia University men's basketball team to a 77-57 win over Dominican College on Saturday, January 13th, at home. With the triumph, Head Coach Herb Magee now has 826 career coaching victories, just two shy of the NCAA Division II record of 828 currently held by Clarence "Big House" Gaines.

Philadelphia, PA (1/13/07) Senior center Christian Burns scored 23 points and collected eight rebounds in helping the Philadelphia University men's basketball team to a 77-57 win over Dominican College on Saturday, January 13th, at home. With the triumph, Head Coach Herb Magee now has 826 career coaching victories, just two shy of the NCAA Division II record of 828 currently held by Clarence "Big House" Gaines.
In the opening half, Burns set the pace for the Rams, scoring 17
points on 5 of 8 shooting from the field. In the second half,
Burns got some help from his teammates, specifically guard
Levi Winters (pictured right).
The junior from Manchester, Pa., connected on four of six
three-point attempts in the second frame, scoring all 12 of his
points in the final 20 minutes.
Sophomore guard Mike Dunn also found
double-figures for the Rams, finishing with 19 points on 7 of 9
shooting from the field as Philadelphia University improves to 13-3
overall and 8-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
(CACC). Senior forward Prince Jackson
(Schenectady, NY) topped the Chargers with 14
points while his five rebounds were also a team-high.
The Chargers are back in action on Monday night when they travel to Queens College for a non-conference game. Game time is slated for 8pm.
