Martinez Leads Nyack to 3rd Straight Conference Win Over Dominican Chargers
Nyack, NY (2/7/07) Sheanan Martinez the reigning CACC player of the week led Nyack to another conference win to keep their playoff hopes alive, defeating Dominican College 68-56. Martinez who posted a triple-double last week was close again finishing the game with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists.
Martinez Leads Nyack to 3rd Straight Conference Win Over Dominican Chargers

Martinez the reigning CACC player of the week led Nyack to
another conference win to keep their playoff hopes alive, defeating
Dominican College 68-56. Martinez who posted a
triple-double last week was close again finishing the game with 24
points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists.
Nyack jumped out quick and led for the whole half. They
extended their lead to as many as eight points before going into
halftime ahead by seven, 36-29. The second half saw Dominican
cut the lead to five points early, but before long Nyack was
rolling once again and extending the lead. Nyack went up by
sixteen, 51-35 with 10:58 to play. Dominican cut the lead to
as low as twelve, but Nyack was able to extend the lead back up to
sixteen, 63-47 with 1:17 to play. Nyack sealed the deal at the free
throw line for the twelve point win.
Helping carry the load for Nyack was Brian Roberts
with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. Also in double figures
was John Van Dunk with 15 points and 8 rebounds.
Prince Jackson (Schenectady, NY) led the way for Dominican with 17 points while Ron Wyatt (Washingtonville, NY) chipped in with 15 points and 8 rebounds.
With the loss, the Chargers drop to 10-12 overall and 8-8 in the CACC.
Dominican is back in action on Saturday when they host the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Game time is 3pm on Coach Baxter Court.
