Tigers
(17-8, 12-6 CACC) defeated Dominican (NY) (12-13, 9-9 CACC)
71-57
Saturday afternoon at the Campus Center.
On Senior Day, it was fitting that Davenport also had a team-high
in
rebounds with ten. It was his second double-double of the season,
and
the 20 points were a season-high.
Tiger forward Andrew Presner (Sr./Southampton, PA/William Tennent)
also
had 11 points on the afternoon, as the Tigers led wire-to-wire in
the
contest and are now in third place with two games to go.
Dominican, who defeated the Tigers earlier in the season, got
a
game-high 29 points from Prince Jackson (Schenectady,
NY). Jackson, who needed 36 points
coming into the game to reach 1,000 points in his career, is now
just
seven points away from that mark.
The Chargers also got 16 points from Ron Wyatt
(Washingtonville, NY) on the afternoon.
Holy Family took an early eight-point lead in the contest at 20-12
with
12:04 left in the opening stanza on a dunk from Davenport.
Dominican
would cut the lead to 20-15 on the next possession, but, that
would be
the closest the Chargers would get in the first half.
With a 35-26 halftime lead, Holy Family maintained a seven-point
lead
in the opening part of the second half and took their biggest lead
at
51-35 with 11:34 left on a three-pointer by Lancaster.
Holy Family won the battle on the glass 32-30, and forced 16
Charger
turnovers. The Tigers also shot over 50 percent in both
halves,
finishing the game 26-for-49 from the field (53.1 percent).
Davenport also had three blocks on the afternoon for the
Tigers.
For Dominican, Wyatt had a game-high four
blocks.
