Dominican Chargers Defeat Goldey-Beacom College, 59-56

Blauvelt, NY (12/2/06) The Dominican College men’s basketball team improved to 2-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) with a 59-56 victory over Goldey-Beacom College this afternoon.

Blauvelt, NY (12/2/06)       The Dominican College men’s basketball team improved to 2-1 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) with a 59-56 victory over Goldey-Beacom College this afternoon.

Dominican held a 27-25 lead going into the half after shooting 47.8% from the floor.

The Chargers were led by senior Prince Jackson (Schenectady, NY) with the team’s only double-double, 19 points and 10 rebounds.  Junior Shelton Gibbs (Jersey City, NJ) added 13 points and six rebounds, while Ron Wyatt (Washingtonville, NY) added 11 points, four rebounds, two blocks and two steals in the win.

The Lightning were led by DJ Stanberry with 23 points.  Steven Cooper had 14 points and 11 rebounds in the loss. 

With the win, Dominican improves to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the CACC.

Dominican will be back in action on Thursday, December 7 when they host Caldwell College at 8pm at Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
