New Haven, CT (12/1/08) Will Carty of Dominican College has claimed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 30. Holy Family's Justin Swidowski was the choice for Rookie of the Week.

New Haven, CT (12/1/08) Will Carty of Dominican College has claimed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 30. Holy Family's Justin Swidowski was the choice for Rookie of the Week.
Carty, a 6-1 senior guard from the Bronx, NY, led Dominican to a victory over Molloy with an efficient stat-line. He scored 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting, including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc. He also added three rebounds, three assists and three steals in the contest.
Swidowski, a 6-8 freshman forward from Cinnaminson, NJ, averaged 14.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.67 blocks per-game in three contests last week. He shot 70.4-percent (19-for-27) from the field, including an 8-for-11 performance against Kutztown. He had 16 points, seven rebounds and five blocks against Kutztown and 19 points and 17 points and nine rebounds in a victory over NYIT.
Honorable Mention
Ceazer Johnson, Holy Family (Sr., G, 6-2, Monroe, LA) - Averaged 17.7 points and 10.0 rebounds per-game in a 1-2 week.
Gage Daye, Bloomfield (So., G, 6-2, Newark, NJ - Notched 20 points, three rebounds and two assists in a loss at Adelphi.
Julian McFadden, Chestnut Hill (Jr., G, 5-10, Philadelphia, PA) - Scored 14 points, three rebounds and four steals against Dowling.
CACC Notes
Chestnut Hill - Junior Julian McFadden led the Griffins on both ends of the court in their lone contest last week. He recorded 14 points and four steals in a 65-55 loss to Dowling College. McFadden is averaging 15.3 PPG this season and also leads the Griffins in steals (7), assists (13), and field goal percentage (.432, 16-of-37).
Nyack - Senior guard Valiant Jones scored 12 of his 15 points in the last four minutes to bring Nyack back from 12 down to win by five (68-63) against UDC. The Warriors have three games this week, including two at home. East Stroudsburg will visit Nyack on Tuesday followed by Dominican on Wednesday in both team's CACC opener. The team will travel to Post for a Saturday CACC match.
Philadelphia - Philadelphia University opens December action Monday night, traveling to St. Thomas Aquinas for a 7:30 pm game. PhilaU will not play at home until Tuesday, December 30th vs. Millersville at 3:00 p.m
