SECOND HALF RUN LEADS FELICIAN GOLDEN FALCONS PAST DOMINICAN BASKETBALL
Rutherford, NJ (1/21/10) The Felician College men’s basketball team scored 24 consecutive second-half points to key a 75-59 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division victory over visiting Dominican College on Thursday night at Job Gymnasium.
Dominican (8-10, 4-3) took a 31-29 lead into halftime on a first-half buzzer-beater by junior Almin Hozdic (Budd Lake, N). After the teams traded hoops to start the second period, Felician held the Chargers scoreless for a span of seven minutes, 40 seconds. Junior guard Ryan Moseley (Teaneck, NJ) scored 10 of his season-high 12 points during the Golden Falcons’ 24-0 run, with his lay-up providing a 55-33 lead with 12:25 to play. The Chargers could only close to within a 12-point deficit thereafter.
Freshman guard Leon Porter (Laurel, MD) led the Chargers with 12 points and a team leading nine assists in the loss. Senior forward Brendan McManus (Pearl River, NY) and sophomore Mike Calzonetti (Gloucester, NJ) each chipped in 11 points, while Hodzic grabbed a team leading 10 rebounds.
With the loss Dominican falls to 8-10 overall and 4-3 in the CACC.
The Chargers are back in action on Saturday when they host Philadelphia University on Coach Baxter Court for a 3pm game.
