MEN'S BASKETBALL DROP FOURTH STRAIGHT GAME

Bronxville, NY (1/28/10)  The Dominican College men's basketball game lost their fourth consecutive game this evening to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, Concordia College, 69-66, this evening at the Meyer Athletic Center.

The first half saw six ties and three score changes as the teams battled to a 32-32 tie.  Concordia had a 30-24 lead with two and a half minutes remaining before the intermission when the Chargers went on a 6-0 spurt, sparked by back-to-back buckets from senior Marquis Reddick (Trumbell, CT).

DC opened up the second stanza with four unanswered points to take a 36-32 lead, but an 8-5 run by Concordia College put them ahead 42-41.

Tied 58-58 with 6:24 left in regulation, the Clippers  went on a 10-4 run to build a 68-62 lead and would hang on for the 69-66 victory.

Junior center Almin Hodzic (Budd Lake, NJ) paced the Chargers with the game's only double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds, while adding five blocks.  Freshman point guard Leon Porter (Laurel, MD) netted 13 points and tallied eight assists, while senior Brendan McManus (Pearl River, NY) added eight points in the loss.

With the loss Dominican falls to 8-12 overall and 4-5 in the CACC.

DC is back in action on Saturday as they travel to the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia for a 3pm CACC game.
