POST UNIVERSITY UPENDS MEN'S BASKETBALL
Orangeburg, NY (2/18/10) The Dominican College men's basketball team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game to the visiting Eagles of Post University, 81-74, this evening on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.

Post had a 14-6 edge with just over fourteen minutes remaining in the first half and led by as many as 14 (31-17) en route to a 47-34 lead at the intermission.
DC came out in the second half with an 18-6 tear to tie the contest at 53-53 with 13:15 left in regulation. Post rebuilt a six point advantage, 63-57 with 8:23 left, but the Chargers once again charged back and cut the deficit to, 67-65 with just over two minutes to go. An 8-0 run by the Eagles put them ahead 75-65 and they went on to the 81-74 victory.
Freshman Nyheem Sanders (Pawtucket, RI) led all scorers with 22 points. Trevon Hamlet (Brooklyn, NY) added 20 points, while Spencer Smith (White Plains, NY) scored 15 points and Rashamell Vereen (Meriden, CT) had 10 points.
Dominican was led by CACC Rookie of the Week, Leon Porter (Laurel, MD), with 15 points and a game leading seven assists. Junior center Almin Hodzic (Budd Lake, NJ) netted 14 points, while Zach Huston (Binghamton, NY) came off the bench to net 10 points and six caroms.
With the loss Dominican falls to 12-15 overall and 8-8 in the CACC, while Post improves to 10-15 overall and 6-8 in the CACC.
The Chargers are back in action next Tuesday when they host CACC North Division rival, Nyack College, on Senior Night at the Hennessy Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 8pm.
