MARS HILL, NC - David Kemp (Webster, NY) scored four goals and provided his teammates with two assists to propel the Lions' lacrosse squad to a 15-8 victory over the visiting Chargers of Dominican College this afternoon at Meares Stadium. MHC never trailed in the game. The teams had identical first and second quarters with MHC scoring five goals in each and DC scoring two to enable the Lions to take a 10-4 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
MHC edged DC 3-1 in the third quarter despite out shooting the Chargers 17-to-4 in the third frame. DC won the fourth quarter 3-2 but the damage was already done as the Lions obtained the seven-point victory and remain undefeated (4-0) in Meares Stadium.
