Dominican Defeats Lees-McRae, 16-7 in Men's Lacrosse

Dominican Defeats Lees-McRae, 16-7 in Men's Lacrosse

Banner Elk, NC (3/12/06)  The Dominican College men's lacrosse team won their first game of the season after defeating Lees-McRae College, 16-7 this afternoon in Banner Elk, NC.

After the first quarter ended in a 1-1 tie, Dominican exploded for six goals in the second quarter to take a 7-3 lead in to the half.  The Chargers added another three goals in the third quarter and capped off the game with six goals in the fourth quarter for the final 16-7 score.

Joe Cobis (Riverhead, NY) and Kyle Miller (Copaigue, NY) each had four goals for the Chargers in the win.  Jeremy Arcaro (New Windsor, NY) scored three goals and had one assists.  Both captain Micah Brown (Flanders, NY) and Remo Montalbano (Saugerties, NY) added two goals a piece, while Montalbano had three assists.

Owen Smith III (Upper Saddle River, NJ) netted one goal and had three assists on the day.

Goalie Joe Assante (Weston, NY) had 10 saves in the win.
