ChargersLacrosse Defeat Assumption College, 12-11

Blauvelt, NY (4/21/07)  The Dominican College Chargers lacrosse team defeated host Assumption College, 12-11 this afternoon in Worcester, MA.  With the win, the Chargers improve to 3-7, while Assumption falls to 2-9. 

DC had the edge at halftime, 8-7, as they exploded for seven goals in the second quarter.  Both teams scored one goal in the third and three in the fourth quarter for the final 12-11 Charger victory.

Owen Smith III (Cornwall, NY) led the Chargers with four goals and three assists in the win.

  Alex Jones (St. Albert, AB) netted three goals and had one assist.  Joe Cobis (Riverhead, NY) added two goals, while Sean Murphy (Pearl River, NY) had two assists.

Assumption had four players with two goals a piece in the lost.

Greyhound goalie Chris Bird had 13 saves in the loss. 

Charger goalie Joe Assante (Weston, NY) had 12 saves in the win.

The Chargers are back in action on Wednesday, April 25^th when they host Franklin Pierce College in a non-conference game.  Game time is slated for 4pm at the DC Lacrosse Field.
