CHARGERS LACROSSE WRAP UP SEASON WITH LOSS TO #3 C.W. POST UNIVERSITY PIONEERS

Brookville, NY (5/3/08) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team lost and East Coast Conference (ECC) game to host and third ranked Pioneers of C.W. Post University, 19-4 this afternoon.

The first quarter was scoreless until the Pioneers struck for a goal with one second left. C.W. Post opened up the second quarter with three consecutive goals when Owen Smith III (Cornwall, NY) struck for a goal off the assist by Remo Montalbano (Saugerties, NY) to cut the lead to 4-1.

A goal with under a minute left in the second quarter gave C.W. Post a 5-1 lead at the break amd they opened up the third quarter with a goal for a 6-1 lead. The Chargers scored to straight unassisted goals, one by Pat O'Shea (Dix Hills, NY) and Alex Jones (St. Albert, AB) to cut the deficit to 6-3.

The Pioneer offense then exploded for a 9-0 run to take a commanding 15-3 lead. Jeremy Arcaro (New Windsor, NY) stopped the run after putting one past the Pioneer goalie off the assist by Smith. C.W. Post ended the game with a 4-0 run for a 19-4 victory.

With the loss Dominican ends the season with a 5-10 overall record and 0-6 in the ECC.
