MEN'S LACROSSE EARNS FIRST ECC VICTORY OVER CHESTNUT HILL COLLEGE
Hillburn, NY (3/9/10) The Dominican College men's lacrosse team earned the program's first East Coast Conference (ECC) victory as they defeated the visiting Griffins of Chestnut Hill College, 15-2, this afternoon at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.

Junior midfielder Alex Jones (St. Albert, AB) led nine different chargers with a game leading four goals. Freshman Conner Lawlor (Neptune City, NJ) tallied three goals, while senior Remo Montalbano added two goals in the victory.
Sophomore attacker Korin Pierce (Middleburg, VA) added two assists and a goal, with rookie Elliot Shephard (Allentown, PA) also having two assists.
Freshman Harlan Bennardo (Rumson, NJ) led the team with five groundballs and recorded 10 faceoffs, while Jones also had five groundballs.
Charger keeper Brendan Bonacum (Port Jefferson Station, NY) made thirteen saves in the victory in 49:02 of action, while freshman Andrew Slater (Brookfield, CT) stopped one shot in the final 10:58 seconds of regulation.
DC took control early netting the first goal just 2:30 seconds into the first quarter as they went on to a 6-0 lead. The team led 7-1 at the intermission, tacked on three more goals in the third quarter and added five goals in the fourth for the 15-2 victory.
With the victory Dominican improves to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the ECC.
The Chargers are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Seton Hill University for a 1pm ECC contest.
