Dominican Earns Victory Over Wilmington, 3-0

Blauvelt, NY (9/17/05) Dominican College defeated Wilmington College, 3-0 this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game held at Dominican College. Dominican improves to 7-1 and 3-0, while Wilmington falls to 1-7 and 0-2 in the CACC.

The Chargers dominated the game, scoring all three goals in the first half. Sophomore Ryan Clancy (Walden, NY) converted a penalty kick at 7:06 to put the Chargers up 1-0. Senior Brent Gaylord (Phoenix, AZ) followed with a goal at 18:03 off the assist by Colin Hodge (Ludlow, VT). Sophomore Joe Ruesgan (Scotland) finished up the scoring for the Chargers with a goal at 36:55 off the pass by Clancy.

Dominican limited the Wildcats to three shots all game, while goal keeper Dan Mangat (Newark, DE) had nine saves. Dominican had 20 shots and keeper Robert Kelly (Kearny, NJ) had two saves.

The Chargers are back in action on Tuesday, September 20 as they travel to Post University for a 3:30pm game.
