Dominican Chargers Upends LeMoyne College in Overtime, 3-2

Syracuse, NY (10/24/05) The Dominican College men's soccer team upended LeMoyne College in overtime, 3-2 this afternoon in Syracuse, NY.

LeMoyne struck early in the first half as Geoff Berger netted a goal off the double-assist by Ryan Vinciguerra and Brandon Morse. In the second half, the Dolphins would score again as Eric Macias got the goal off the assist by Ryan Cunningham.

Down 0-2, Dominican brothers, Kyle and Ryan Clancy (Walden, NY), rallied in the second half to score two goals, tying the game at 2-2 at the end of regulation. The elder Clancy, Kyle, netted DC's first goal off the double assist by Brent Gaylord (Phoenix, AZ) and Joe Ruesgan (Scotland) at 64:52. Ryan netted the game-tying goal off a penalty kick at 73:16.

It only took three minutes into the overtime period, for Kyle to strike again, as he got the rebound off his own shot and put it in the net for the game-winning goal.

Dominican out shot LeMoyne 24-9 in the game and had the edge in corner kicks, 9-4.

Charger keeper Robert Kelly (Kearny, NJ) had four saves in the victory, while LeMoyne keeper Tim Mann had seven saves.

Dominican is currently ranked 8th in the nation and first in the New England region. The team is back in action on Wednesday October 26, as they travel to Goldey Beacom College in a CACC game.
