Clancy and Gaylord Named to the ESPN Academic All-District Team

Blauvelt, NY (11/7/05)Dominican College mens soccer players, Kyle Clancy and Brent Gaylord have been named to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team in the College Division as was announced late last week by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSida).

Clancy, a native of Walden, NY, is a senior forward who leads the Chargers in goals scored. He was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year for the second straight year, named the CACC Tournament MVP for the second time in his career and has been an All-CACC First Team Member for the last three years. Among these honors, he was also named to the All-CACC Tournament team twice. An athletic training major, he has a 3.65 GPA.

Gaylord, a senior from Phoenix, AZ, is a two year captain of the Chargers. He is a four year starter and president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). He has played in every game for Dominican this year. He was named to the All-CACC First Team this year was named to the All-CACC Tournament Team last year. He is a math major and has a 3.65 GPA.

Both players were key members for the Chargers over the last four years. In their career, DC has won three CACC Tournament Titles, two CACC Regular Season Titles and their first Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship last year.

To be eligible for the All-District team, the student athlete must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, be a at lease a sophomore academically.
