Clancy Named CACC Men's Soccer Player of the Week
NEW HAVEN, CT - Kyle Clancy of Dominican College added to his numerous honors and awards this season by being named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the period of Oct. 31 to Nov. 7. Steve Terpstra of Nyack College has been chosen as the CACC Rookie of the Week.
Clancy, a senior forward from Walden, NY, scored five of Dominicans six goals in the CACC Tournament, which the Chargers won. He scored four goals against Nyack in a 5-0 semifinal victory and scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Caldwell in the championship match.
Clancy has been named Player of the Week three times this season, was named the CACC Player of the Year and was the Conference Tournament MVP.
In the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Tournament Championship match on Monday, Terpstra tied the score, 1-1, with a goal to send the game into overtime, where Nyack eventually won on penalty kicks. It was his first collegiate goal. Terpstra is a freshman defender/midfielder from Pompton Plains, NJ.
