Dominican Trio Named to the (NSCAA)/Adidas Division II All-New England Region Teams
Blauvelt, NY (12/15/05)Dominican College men's soccer players, Kyle Clancy, Tom Rolston and Ryan Clancy have been named to the 2005 National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) /Adidas Division II All-American Team in the New England Region as was announced today by the NSCAA.
Kyle Clancy, a native of Walden, NY, is a senior forward who leads the Chargers in goals scored. He was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year for the second straight year, named the CACC Tournament MVP for the second time in his career and has been an All-CACC First Team Member for the last three years. Among these honors, he was also named to the All-CACC Tournament team twice and was named to the NCAA Division II Men's New England Regional All-Tournament Team. He was also named to the NSCAA/Addidas Division II All-New England Region Second Team last year. He finishes his career at Dominican second in goals scored and ranked in the top ten in assists. Kyle was also named to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team in the College Division.
Rolston, a graduate of Clarkstown South High School, was a key member of the Charger defense that ranked first in the conference in both goals allowed and shutouts. He was named to the All-CACC First Team for the second straight year, the All-CACC Tournament Team and the NCAA Division II Men's New England Regional All-Tournament Team. Last year, he was named to the NSCAA/Adidas Division II All-New England Region Third Team last year.
Ryan Clancy, also of Walden, NY and brother of Kyle, is a sophomore forward who led the Chargers in assists this year. Among being named to the NSCAA/Adidas Division II All-New England Region Second Team, he was named to the All-CACC First Team, the All-CACC Tournament Team and the NCAA Division II Men's New England Regional All-Tournament Team. Last year, Ryan was named to the NSCAA/Adidas Division II All-New England Region Third Team.
Kyle Clancy was named to the New England Region First Team, while Rolston and Ryan Clancy were named to the New England Region Second Team. All three players were key members for the Chargers this year, guiding them to an 18-2 record this year. They won the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Regular Season and Tournament Titles and finished the year ranked first in the New England Region and seventh in the nation.
