Orangeburg, NY (9/23/06) The Dominican College men's soccer team improved to 4-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play with a 3-1 victory over visiting Post University this afternoon at the Dominican College Soccer Field.
Dominican attacked early as junior Jhonny Arteaga (Cali, Colombia) scored a goal at 8:39.
Post tied the game with under five minutes left in the first have as junior forward Maurice Johnson (Bronx, NY) scored a goal.
The Chargers took a 2-1 lead when freshman Dan Kelly (Massapequa, NY) netted a goal off the pass by sophomore Joseph Ruesgan (Scotland) at 58:22.
DC added the game's final goal at 85: 53 when freshman Colin Van Rye (Elmwood Park, NJ) got the rebound save off a shot by Diego Miranda (Quito, Ecuador) and put it past the Eagle keeper.
With the win, the Chargers improve to 5-3-1 overall and remain undefeated in CACC play at 4-0. The Eagles fall to 3-4-2 overall and are 3-1 in the CACC.
Charger keeper Robert Kelly (Kearny, NJ) had four saves in the win, while Eagle keeper Dan Nadel (Farmington, CT) had five saves in the loss.
The Chargers are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Caldwell College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game scheduled for 4pm.
