Kelly Named to the ESPN Academic All-District Team
Blauvelt, NY (11/3/06) Dominican College mens soccer player, Robert Kelly has been named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team in the College Division as was announced yesterday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSida).
Blauvelt, NY (11/3/06) Dominican College men's soccer player, Robert Kelly has been named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team in the College Division as was announced yesterday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSida).
Kelly, a native of Kearny, NJ, is a goal keeper who
has started every game this year. He was named to the
All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Second Team and
to the All-CACC Tournament Team. He posted eight shut outs on
the year and had a goals against average of 0.93. He is
ranked in the nation in goals against average and is third in the
CACC. He was a 2005 All-CACC First Team pick and was ranked
fifth in the nation in goals against averages. An education
major, he has a 3.86 GPA
This season the Chargers won their third consecutive CACC Regular Season and Tournament Championships. The team earned their second straight berth in the NCAA Tournament and were most recently ranked #22 in the NCAA Division II.
To be eligible for the All-District team, the student athlete must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, be a at lease a sophomore academically.
