MIRANDA'S GOAL LIFTS CHARGERS OVER HOLY FAMILY, 3-2
Blauvelt, NY (10/6/07) Diego Miranda (Stamford,
CT) netted the game winning goal at 88:06 off the pass by
Jhonny Arteaga (Stamford, CT) to lift the
Dominican College Chargers over host Holy Family University, 3-2
this afternoon. With the win, the Chargers improve to 8-1-5
overall and 6-0-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC)
men's soccer action.
Dominican got on the board as Joe Wright (Stratford-Upon-Avon, England) took a pass from Edwin Miranda (Stamford, CT) to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead at 9:30.
Holy Family University tied the game late in the first half as Steve Kientzy (Philadelphia, PA) got a pass from David Laurich (Warminster, PA) to tie the teams at 1-1 at 36:45.
The Chargers regained the lead as Arteaga netted a goal off the dish by James Hamilton (Paisley, Scotland) at 54:26 to take a 2-1 lead.
The Tigers bounced back to tie the game at 2-2 as Laurich took a double pass from Matthew Irlich (Philadelphia, PA) and Rich Morawski (Philadelphia, PA) at 68:38.
Dominican keeper Robert Kelly (Kearny, NJ) had six saves in the win, while Tiger keeper Ben Roller (Philadelphia, PA) also had six saves.
The Chargers are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to
LeMoyne College in a non-conference game scheduled to begin at 3:30
pm.
