# 3 Lady Chargers Sweep Double Header From St. Thomas Aquinas College
Blauvelt, NY (4/13/06) The #3 Northeast regionally ranked Dominican Lady Chargers softball team swept a non-conference double header from St. Thomas Aquinas College this afternoon. DC took the first game 6-4 and won the second game 3-0.

Dominican took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Jackie Terpstra (Middletown, NY) led off the inning with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly by freshman Jamie Ollari (Hopatcong, NJ). The Lady Spartans answered back with three runs in the third to take a 3-1 lead.
In the bottom of the third, sophomore Kristine Knuth (Staten Island, NY) led off the inning with a double, followed by a one out single by senior Katie Farrugia (Cornwall, NY). Sarah Beck (Milton, NY) hit a single, followed by two consective errors by the Spartans which allowed all three runs to score as DC re-gained the lead, 4-3.
STAC tied the game at 4-4 in the fourth, but DC took the lead for good when Beck hit a solo homer in the bottom of the fifth. They added an insurance run in the sixth as Ollari hit her first collegiate home for the final 6-4 victory.
Starter Michelle Krupna (Sparta, NJ) went four innings, allowing three hits and striking out nine batters. Reliever Christine Stathes (Cornwall, NY) picked up the win, going three innings to improve her record to 11-2.
In the night cap, the Lady Chargers struck early for a run after Knuth led off the game with a single, followed by a one out walk to Farrugia. With two outs Terpstra singled to load the bases and Krupna walked to score Knuth for a 1-0 lead.
DC added another run in the third inning as Beck got a one out single and scored on the double by Krupna. In the sixth inning, catcher Corey Heulitt (Holland, PA) got a two out walk, went to second on the single by Knuth and went over to third on the walk to Melanie Hestermann (Lacey Township, NJ). Farrugia came to bat and hit an RBI single as the Lady Chargers won the game 3-0.
Pitcher Michelle Bark (West Milford, NJ) picked up her seventh win of the season going 6 2/3 innings, allowing five hits and strikin gout eight. Stathes picked up the save, after coming in with the bases loaded in the seventh and getting the final batter to strikout looking.
With the win, the Lady Chargers improve to 25-11 on the year.
