Dominican Softball Receive Votes in 2007 USA Today/NFCA Preseason Poll

Blauvelt, NY (2/5/07) The 2007 USA Today/NFCA Division II Preseason Poll has been released and Dominican College has received one point to sit at 33rd in the nation. This is the first time in school history that the Lady Chargers have been recognized in a national poll.

Blauvelt, NY (2/5/07)  The 2007 USA Today/NFCA Diivsion II Preseason Poll has been released and Dominican College has received one point to sit 33rd in the nation.  This is the first time in school history that the Lady Chargers have been recognized in a national poll.
 
Dominican College is coming off its most successful season in school history with a 37-19 final record, and a second place finish in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament. 
 
The only other team in the CACC Conference to receive votes was 2006 CACC Champion Caldwell College who received 48 points in the Preseason Poll and a ranking of 21st in the nation.  
 
The Dominican Softball team opens up its 2007 campaign at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Florida,  where they will play regional teams Assumption College, Saint Anselm College and the University of Bridgeport. The Lady Chargers open up their home season with a doubleheader against Felician College on March 20th. In addition to conference teams Dominican is also scheduled to play nationally ranked CW Post and UMass Lowell as well as 2006 regionally ranked teams Bryant College, Adelphi University and Queens College.
