Fort Myers, Fl (3/6/07) The Dominican College softball team split a double header to improve to 2-2 at the Gene Cusic Classic this afternoon. The team won the first game over Assumption College, 6-5, but dropped a 13-5 decision to Wayne State College in the night cap.

Fort Myers, Fl (3/6/07) The Dominican College softball team split a double header to improve to 2-2 at the Gene Cusic Classic this afternoon. The team won the first game over Assumption College, 6-5, but dropped a 13-5 decision to Wayne State College in the night cap.
In the victory over Assumption College, Jamie Ollari (Hopatcong, NJ) went 1-2 with three RBIs.
Michelle Krupna (Sparta, NJ) got the complete game victory in her first appearance of the season. She allowed five hits and struck out eight batters.
In game two, Wayne State held a 5-4 lead after three innings and tacked on four more in the top of the fourth en route to the 11-5 victory.
Sophomore Sarah Beck (Milton, NY) went 3-3 with four RBIs, including a home run in the loss.
Freshman Laurie Edwards (Riverhead, NY) suffered the loss, going three innings and allowing five runs.
The team is back in action tomorrow at the Gene Cusic Classic when they take on Saginaw Valley State University in a double header.
