Softball Wins Two On Last Day At Gene Cusic Classic

Fort Myers, Fl (3/9/07) The Lady Charger softball squad won both games this afternoon on their final day at the Gene Cusic Classic. With the wins, the team improves to 4-4 on the season.

Softball Wins Two On Last Day At Gene Cusic Classic

Fort Myers, Fl (3/9/07) The Lady Charger softball squad won both games this afternoon on their final day at the Gene Cusic Classic.  With the wins, the team improves to 4-4 on the season.

In the first game the Lady Chargers defeated the University of Bridgeport 8-0 in five innings and turned back St. Anselm College 8-3 in the night cap.

Freshman Nicole Philpot (Dingman's Ferry, PA) went 2-4 in the win, while junior Jackie Terpstra (Middletown, NY) went 2-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Senior Michelle Krupna (Sparta, NJ) improved to 2-0, going the distance and striking out four batters.

In game two, five Lady Chargers had two hits, while Krupna had a three run home run.  Terpstra and Christine Stathes (Cornwall, NY) also had home runs in the win.

Stathes improved to 2-1 on the season, going five innings and striking out six batters.
