Lady Chargers Softball Drop Double Header To C.W. Post

Blauvelt, NY (4/19/07) The Lady Chargers Softball team dropped a non-conference double header to host C.W. Post this afternoon in Brookville, NY. The Pioneers won the first game 9-1 in five innings and took the night cap 8-4.

The Pioneers held a 6-1 lead after four innings and added three runs in the bottom of the fifth for the 9-1 lead when the game was stopped due to the eight run rule.

Sarah Beck (Milton, NY) went 2-2 in game one. The Pioneers held the Lady Chargers to five hits in the win.

DC starter Michelle Bark (West Milford, NJ) suffered the loss in the first game, going three innings and allowing four funs on four hits.

In game two, DC was able to score four runs on eight hits. Kristine Knuth (Staten Island, NY) went 2-2 with two runs scored. Beck hit a two run homer in the top of the first and Christine Stathes (Cornwall, NY) had a solo home run in the top of the fourth.

The Lady Chargers held a 3-1 lead until the bottom of the fifth when the Pioneers scored five runs on five hits.

Stathes suffered the loss in game two.

Dominican is back in action tomorrow afternoon when they host Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double header. Game time is set for 3pm.
