SOFTBALL SPLITS ON DAY TWO AT THE REBEL SPRING GAMES
Kissimmee, FL (3/16/08) The Dominican College softball team won their first game of the 2008 campaign as they split a double-header at the Rebel Spring Games today in Kissimmee, Fl. The Lady Chargers lost the first game 10-0 to Tiffin University in five innings and won 5-2 over Concordia University in the night cap.
The first game saw Tiffin strike for seven runs in the first two innings and added a run in the third and two in the fourth to the 10-0 victory in five innings.
Laurie Edwards (Riverhead, NY) took the loss for the Lady Chargers after allowing seven runs on seven hits in 1 2/3 innings.
In the second game, senior Christine Stathes (Cornwall, NY) picked up her first win of the season with a complete game, allowing only two hits. She also did her part on the offensive end with a two run homer in the second inning.
The Lady Chargers added two more runs in the second and followed with a run in the third en route to the 5-2 victory.
With the split, the team improves to 1-5 overall. DC is
back in action on Tuesday when they take on Augustana College at
the Rebel Spring Games.
