PIASECKI, BECK AND KNUTH EARN ALL-CACC HONORS IN
SOFTBALL
Orangeburg, NY (5/1/08) Dominican College softball players Cara Piasecki, Sarah Beck and Kristine Knuth have all earned All-CACC Honors as was released by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) this morning. Piasecki and Beck were All-CACC First Team selections, while Knuth was an All-CACC Second Team selection.
Piasecki, a sophomore shortstop who hails from
Port Monmouth, NJ, is currently in the top five in the CACC in
batting and is tied for the team lead with a .410 average.
She is also tied for the team lead with 66 hits and set a new
school record with 10 home runs so far this season. She is in
the top five in the CACC in hits, on-base percentage, slugging
percentage, runs scored, runs batted in, doubles, total bases and
leads the conference in home runs. Piasecki
has been named the CACC and the East Coast Athletic Conference
(ECAC) Player of the Week twice this season and was named the
Louisville Slugger/NFCA Divsion II National Player of the Week for
this past week.
Beck, a junior outfielder from Milton, NY, makes
her second appearance on the All-CACC First Team after being named
the 2006 Rookie of the Year. She ranked in the top five in
the CACC in batting, on-base percentage and hits. She tied
for the team lead in batting and hits and second in RBIs and
doubles.
Knuth, a first basemen from Staten Island, NY,
makes her third appearance on the All-CACC Second Team. She
is sporting a .310 average and is second on the team with 52
hits. She has a .987 fielding average in fifty games played
at first base this season. She is also a team captain.
