LADY CHARGERS WIN TWO AT NATIONAL TRAINING CENTER GAMES
Clermont, FL (3/14/09) The Dominican College softball squad won two games at the National Training Center this afternoon in Clermont, FL. DC defeated Southern Connecticut State University, 9-3 in game one and took the night cap, 6-0 from Franklin Pierce University.

In the first game, senior Jamie Ollari (Hoptacong, NJ) went 3-4 with 4RBI's, while junior Nicole Philpot (Dingmans Ferry, PA) score three runs and freshman Deidre Jeppson (Sylmar, CA) score two runs.
Dominican trailed 1-0 going into the fourth when a double by catcher Nicole Scarillo (South Amboy, NJ) brought in Philpot to tie the game. SCSU went up 2-1 in the bottom stanza, but Dominican struck for three runs in the fifth on four hits and exploded for five runs in the sixth as cruisted to the 93 win.
Junior Danielle Garrison (Coatesville, PA) picked up her first win of the season, going six innings. Freshman Katrina Pistilli (Staten Island, NY) came on in the seventh with two on and no outs and retired the next three consecutive batters for the 9-3 win.
Game two saw the Lady Chargers once again provide the offense as they cruised to a 6-0 victory over Franklin Pierce University.
DC got on the board early with three runs in the first on an RBI singles by Sarah Beck (Milton, NY) and Ashley Martinez (Bloomfield, NJ) and an RBI walk issued to Jessica Martinieri (Tampl, FL).
Pistilli picked up the complete game win, allowing just three hits and four strikeouts.
Dominican added three more runs in the fifth on one hit and taking advantage of two FPU errors.
With the victories Dominican improves to 4-3 overall.
DC is back in action at the National Training Center games tomorrow when they take on St. Michael's College in a double-header.
