WOMEN'S SOFTBALL SWEEPS CONCORDIA

Clermont, FL (3/3/10) The Dominican College women's softball team swept a non-conference double header from Concordia College, 5-3 and 4-0 this morning at the National Training Center Games in Clermont, FL.

Clermont, FL (3/3/10)  The Dominican College women's softball team swept a non-conference double header from Concordia College, 5-3 and 4-0 this morning at the National Training Center Games in Clermont, FL.

In the first game, sophomore Katrina Pistilli (Staten Island, NY) picked up the complete game victory to improve her record to 1-2.

Freshman Julie Plante (Swansea, MA) led off the game with a triple and later came in to score, while junior Nicole Scarillo (South Amboy, NJ) added a three run home run for her first of the season.  Sophomore Ashley Martinez (Bloomfield, NJ) recorded three hits in the victory.

In the night cap, freshman Ashley Corraro (Staten Island, NY) had a key RBI single.

In the 4-0 victory freshman left handed pitcher Delaney Childers (Johnstown, OH) threw a no hitter to improve to 2-1 on the year, while recording nine strikeouts and her first collegiate shut out victory.

 

With the victories Dominican evens their record to 3-3 on the year.
