SOFTBALL WINS TWO ON LAST DAY AT NTC GAMES
Clermont, FL (3/6/10) The Dominican College softball team wrapped up their spring break trip to the National Training Center games with a non-conference sweep of nationally ranked Kutztown University and American International College to improve to 6-6 on the season.

Game one:
The Lady Chargers got on the board in the bottom of the second on an RBI single by senior Lauren Galladay (Aberdeen, NJ).
Kutztown knotted the game at 1-1 in the top of the fourth, but Dominican answered back with a three run bottom stanza to take a 4-1 lead. Delaney Childers (Johnstown, OH) recorded an RBI single and senior shortstop Cara Piasecki (Port Monmouth, NJ) had a two run RBI single.
Childers got the complete game victory in the win.
Game two:
DC held a 5-0 lead after two innings behind an RBI single in the first and a two run single by Childers in her first two at bats and and RBI double off the bat of sophomore Deidre Jeppson (Sylmar, CA).
AIC fought back with two runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the sixth.
The Lady Chargers tacked on another five runs in the fifth as Ashley Martinez (Bloomfield, NJ) had a two run double, later followed by an RBI double from freshman Kathryn Coles (Farmville, VA). Freshman Julie Plante (Swansea, MA) got a two out RBI double and Childers followed with her fourth RBI as she singled in a run.
Childers picked up her fifth RBI of the game as she hit a sacrifice fly ball to left field for the 11-6 victory.
Katrina Pistilli (Staten Island, NY) picked up the win in five and one third innings of work, allowing six runs (five earned) on 12 hits and recording five strikeouts.
