THREE SOFTBALL PLAYERS EARN NFCA SCHOLAR-ATHLETE HONORS

Orangeburg, NY (10/13/09) Three players from the 2009 Lady Charger softball team have earned NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors as was announced by the NFCA.
To earn NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors, the student must have a GPA of 3.50 or higher. The NFCA honors high school and collegiate softball teams for their success in the classroom with the girls got game Top-Ten All-Academic Team awards. The awards are based on team GPAs submitted by participating institutions for the 2008-09 academic year.
The student-athletes were earned Scholar-Athlete honors in 2008-09 are current senior Nicole Philpot (Dingmans Ferry, PA) and 2009 graduates Sarah Beck (Milton, NY) and Jamie Ollari (Hopatcong, NJ).
The 2009 Dominican College Lady Chargers softball team had the most successful season in program history after earning the program's first berth in the NCAA Tournament and winning the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Regular Season Title. DC finished with a record of 39-16 and a CACC record of 22-2. The team won the CACC Regular Season and received the top seed in the CACC Tournament.
