WOMEN'S TRACK COMPETE AT STOCKTON INVITATIONAL
Pomona, NJ (3/20/10) The Dominican College women's track and field team opened up the 2010 season by competing at the Stockton Invitational hosted by Richard Stockton College today.
Pomona, NJ (3/20/10) The Dominican College women's track and field team opened up the 2010 season by competing at the Stockton Invitational hosted by Richard Stockton College today.
The team competed in seven events at the meet. In the 100 meter dash, freshman Tameekia Cooper (New Rochelle, NY) finished in ninth place with a time of 14.03. Michelle Brito (Washington Heights, NY) finished in 17th place with a time of 16.34.
Cooper finished in 12th place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.92. Freshman Mayerline Louis-Juste (Spring Valley, NY) took fifth place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.41.
Freshman middle distance runner Julia Miller (Mount Vernon, NY) was the top finisher for Dominican in an event as she finished in third place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:23.41.
Sophomore captain and distance runner Samantha Klunk (York, PA) took 10th place in the 1500 meter run with a final time of 5:40.96. Sarah Dugandzic (Suffern, NY) and freshman Schae Auffant (Catskill, NY) took 15th and 16th place respectively with times of 5:48.45 and 5:52.42.
As a team, the Lady Chargers competed in the 4 X 400 meter relay where the team of Auffant, Dugandzic, Miller and Juste finished in fourth place with a combined time of 4:30.16.
Cooper also competed in the long jump event where she placed seventh with a jump of 4.40m.
The Lady Chargers will compete at the Monmouth Invitational next Saturday in Long Branch, NJ.
