Philadelphia University Goes Undefeated in Tri-Match

Bloomfield College Splits

Blauvelt, NY (10/22/05)Philadelphia University (26-4, 19-0 CACC) won two matches this afternoon at the Hennessy Center at Dominican College, while Bloomfield College split in CACC volleyball action.

The first match between Philadelphia University against Dominican, saw the Lady Rams come away with the victory, 3-0. Emily Krauss (Stormville, NY) led all attackers with 17 kills and had 18 digs. Lindsey Butler (DeKalb, Ill) added 13 kills, while Kristin Goede (Westborough, MA) had 36 assists, respectively. For the Lady Chargers, sophomore Tara Leahy (Highland Falls, NY) led the team with 7 kills, while setter Megan Earl (Greenville, NY) had 24 assists.

The second match once again saw the Lady Rams dominate as they defeated Bloomfield College 3-1. Krauss led the way with 17 kills, while Goede had 45 assists and Butler added 14 kills. For the Lady Deacons, Juruena Silveira (Brazil) led all attackers with 20 kills and Brunna Coutinho (Newark, NJ) added 12 kills. Sonia Perez had 45 assists.

The final match of the day was a back and forth battle between Bloomfield and Dominican. Going five games, the Lady Deacons pulled away with the 3-2 victory. Celeste Lindsey (Cincinnati, OH) led all attackers with 24 kills, whiel Silveira added 20. Perez tallied 48 assists. For the Lady Chargers, Kinikia Collier (Garnerville, NY) led the team with 17 kills, while Jessica Zanotti (Garfield, NJ) added 13. Earl tallied 47 assists.

Dominican will be in action again on Tuesday, October 25 as they host CACC rival Nyack College at 7pm in the Hennessy Center.
